Losing a family member is an extremely stressful experience. Many people are normally bewildered on such occasions and are left oblivious over what to do next. The Islamic Society of Peel endeavors to provide ease and comfort to the grieving families by taking care of their funeral related needs with the utmost professionalism.

Procedures: Once the body of the deceased is ready for release from the facility where it is being held, the funeral coordinator will do the following:

Pick the body up and take it to the Masjid
Make arrangements for bathing and shrouding the body (ghusl and takfeen)
Make arrangements for the burial
Conduct the funeral prayer
Transport the deceased to the cemetery
Conduct the burial

Guidelines

Timings for funeral related services are 24/7
Due to parking issues, only one burial will be allowed on Fridays
Back-to-back burials on Saturday must be done at 11 a.m. and after Zuhur Salah, respectively
The Society can only pick up deceased individuals located in the GTA. Please note that any pickup required outside the GTA will be subject to an additional charge.
Burial arrangement will be accommodated by the Society in any cemetery in the GTA.
In the unlikely case where the staff of the Society is mistreated, harassed and disrespected the Society will decline all services
Only one funeral arrangement can be made per day on the first come first serve basis
Additional charges will apply if a service is requested to be conducted at another Masjid or Islamic Centre

Services and Facilities

Funeral Services Fee for Infants under 1 years old: $600 (Flat Fee)
Funeral Service Fee: $1,200.00 (See breakdown below)

Transportation of Deceased	From place of death to Masjid (within 30 kms of the Masjid)	$150
Transportation of Deceased	From Masjid to Cemetery for Burial (within 30 kms of the Masjid)	$150
Additional Mileage	On occasions where the deceased must be transported an additional distance, a fee of $1/ km will be added	$1/km
Additional Personnel	Where additional individuals are required for moving the deceased either to the Masjid or to the Cemetery	Incl.
Documentation	Securing and completing necessary permits, forms, certificates, notices of other documents for death registration, burial and/or for use by the family for estate settlement (where accepted).	$200
Shelter of the deceased	Use of the holding facility (Ghusl) and/or refrigeration to shelter the deceased (for 2 days only) after 2 days $50 per day	$50
Facilities Fee	Use of bathing room and masjid facilities	$500
